Where the road begins

a direct hit

By Logan StanislawPublished about 11 hours ago 1 min read

You cannot earn your way to heaven ,

But you can pave the road to hell .

Sin before you’ve taken breath ,

Forgiven before you can tell .

Live the lies of your forefathers ,

Deny the truths of now .

Because someone lied ,

And someone died ,

For the knowledge God foretells .

Sanctimonious, egocentric- religions built on man

The light’s inside ,

As is God’s pride ;

His love, His grace, His truth, His eyes -

Put down the book and take a look ,

At what your ego hides .

The end doesn’t begin with a mountainous roar ,

Or angels with trumpets on high ...

But a neighbor that closes a door on a neighbor ,

The friend who “see’s” but just drives by .

Literal is for the dictionary -

Faith is for the blind -

So where does that leave the little people ,

Clinging to what’s left behind ?
