Not a cloud in the sky
The beach was dotted with
A regular Saturday crowd
Lots of families enjoying
A sunny day at the water
The final approach to
The airport is along
The beach so the jets
Are lining up to land
One by one they fly by
In a parade of all the
Neat paint jobs they
Are all sporting
The wind was relentless
And cold
How rude.
But it was a lovely day
Looking at the blue sky
And hearing the waves
Come in to shore
The sun finally dipped
Below the horizon and
We headed for the car
That's when we saw it
A scary looking
ice cream truck
I think we clutched
our souls tightly
As it drove by slowly
Then it left the parking lot
and sped down the street
Blaring "Jingle Bells"
All the way.
