Incredibooks: The Masked Duet Series
A review and analysis of the Masked Duet book series by Reese Rivers

So my best friend who loves the crazy world of reverse harem books put me on to this author named Reese Rivers and a two part book series she put together called the “Masked Duet”. The series is made up of two stories titled “Dance Butterfly Dance” and “Burn Butterfly Burn”.
This series takes us on the journey of a young girl named Savannah Sevan, commonly known by her nickname Savy. So our girl Savy is a considerable loner, who is an exotic dancer in a mask after dark. She lives a very private life, mostly keeping to herself and only ever really interacting with her godfather and her friend who runs the club she dances at. Eventually Savy encounters a group of athletic best friends named Jude, Asher, Beckett and Tate. The group of high profile football stars begin to take a liking to Savy, minus Asher in the beginning and try their best to woo her into being their shared girlfriend.
Savy is initially rejecting of their advances considering the brokenness of her pre-existing relationships. Savy had previously lost her father in a bad car accident due to a snowstorm, of which she was present. This event left her traumatized and the closest family she had following this loss was a wicked stepmother and stepsister named Celeste and Vanessa who were just a couple of envious gold diggers who desperately wanted what Savy had.
The thing about Savy is she is an heiress to her father’s wealth, but she keeps this information to herself because she doesn’t want to be a high profile individual. Savy wants the simple life. One that she originally preferred in seclusion, but this all changed when she meets Jude, Beckett, Tate and Asher. Two of the young men take an instant liking to Savy, but the other two are skeptical, believing that Savy is a potential gold digger who is after the boys incoming money and status, but what these boys are unaware of is that this girl is loaded with money, yet she doesn’t initially disclosed this to them.
Eventually the other two brothers began to embrace Savy, but there’s a big air of mystery to all of this. Savy has been dancing while masked in front of one of the distrusting boys for quite some time without him realizing it and it all is revealed at a time when her wicked stepsister Vanessa barges into Savy’s new relationship and stirs up drama and strife forcing Savy to cast the young men out of her life and and build back up the walls she very gradually began to tear down.
As the brothers come to learn who Savy is in her exile, they realize that they’ve made a terrible mistake in letting the drama created by her stepsister break them apart, so as Savy rearranges her lifestyle and begins to live in the open our group of young men desperately spend the next five years fighting nail and tooth while also living out their sports careers fighting to get Savy back. As you can imagine the more she ignores them, the more they fight to re acquire her. Even as she pushes them away, Savy still has deep love for the young men hence why she hasn’t completely blocked them.
Nevertheless the quintet is reunited and their reunion with come with revelations and scandals that will rock their relationship to its core. If you’re interested in books that deal with the edgier side of a love life then this book is for you. It really has it all, but fair warning it ain’t for the faint of vanilla. Read with caution.
