Meditative Woodworking
The air around me is redolent of the sweet smell of cherry wood. All is quiet at an hour when the sun has yet to ascend past the horizon. The only sound I hear is the soft scraping of the hand plane as I run it along my workpiece, following the grain of the wood. The woodgrain is my guide. The occasional small mistake is my teacher. I am in my own world for while as I seek to shape my piece into what I think it should be. I am a creator. My creations do not know my name, but neither do they criticize or bring any complaints against me.

Building a Life, Not Earning a Living
My passion, or my life goal, isn’t something you can simply achieve with positive thinking. Have you ever had someone tell you to just think positively about something and it will happen? Extremely frustrating! Especially when you're already well into adulting with tiny humans and responsibilities...

It all started with a cross
It all started with a cross. Well, I assume that’s how all good love affairs begin. A cross here and there. To be honest I can’t remember how it started. But for as long as I can remember I have been cross stitching. Nothing fancy. Just some good old fashioned crosses. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with the fancy types. I have tried them all over the years. Long stitch, embroidered flowers, herringbone, whitework. But my happy place is always back in the comfort of a cross.

Scuba Diving as a person with a disability
My life went a bit crazy for a while, but one thing to come from it was it gave me a new outlook on life. Life is for living so make the most of it whilst you've got it. This new outlook on life led to me taking up a new hobby, I had wanted to try Scuba Diving for several years after a try dive on a holiday in Tenerife. Little did I know at the time that the experience I had was nothing compared to the experience I was going to have. My previous experience was much about being made to feel disabled, being dragged around like a rag doll rather than being enabled to experience the freedom I learnt I was able to have. I truly feel free and equal to everyone else once I am in the water even though my technique is different to most other people.

Food as Medicine
Many things fulfill me in life, from road trips, music, writing, the hospitality industry, and other joys I pursue to maintain happiness. However, there is one thing that fulfills me in a more overwhelming way on a daily basis and that thing is food as medicine. I know this can sound cliché or even not make sense to many people. It could sound like I am diminishing the importance of science and healthcare by pointing to food for treatment. Stay with me on this passion of mine and you could begin to understand why.

As Gemini Arrives
I went ahead and asked my oracle cards of reiki to give an impression of what this Gemini Season stores and holds- they pretty much said, intuition is key; you know what you need do with to bring the balance you seek, the mention of an old friend came up and that can be the nostalgia mentioned later on but this "past" they spoke of made it seem like it may come in different forms for anybody.
