Natural Supps Made Me Rethink Hormone Balance In my 30's
How a casual scroll led me to switch up to a natural way to balance hormones...
A Casual Discovery I Didn’t Expect... Surprise!
I used to think anything related to hormones had to be complicated. Charts, strict routines, and big lifestyle changes. It always felt like something that required a lot of effort, so I never looked into it too deeply.
Then one day, I was just scrolling online without really looking for anything. I came across a few natural supplements, nothing flashy, nothing dramatic. Just simple products. And I came across red clover and some mushroom capsules.
At first, I didn’t think much of it. But something about how simple it all sounded made me pause, research, and just generally read more about it. And before I knew it, I had fallen into a bit of a wellness rabbit hole. And yes, I can say I'm an ayurvedic enthusiast.
Why I Became An Ayurvedic Junkie
Red clover was the first thing that stood out to me because it was related to hormonal health. I had probably seen it before and never given it a second thought. But it turns out this plant contains natural compounds called isoflavones, which are quite helpful, believe it or not.
These compounds are often described as plant-based and similar to estrogen in how they interact with the human body. That doesn’t mean they replace anything, but they may gently support balance.
From what I read, people sometimes look into red clover for things like hot flashes, mood changes, or general hormonal changes - particularly anything female, this plant is a big YES factor! What I liked most was that it sounded like it may help.
There were also mentions of possible benefits for bone and heart health, which stood out too. Of course, it’s not a quick fix, and results can take years and years and years, but the fact that I got reading was a big sign that drew me to a natural approach. I haven’t tried it myself, but learning about it definitely changed how I see natural options and artificial ones.
A Change Of Perspective
Next came the mushrooms, which surprised me even more. Because when I think of holistic mushrooms, I think of wild mushrooms growing in the forest that are known to the masses to be not quite great for health. But these are something else.
Chaga, reishi, and cordyceps are now coming into the market, as wellness drinks and supplements. They’re known as adaptogens.
Adaptogens are believed to help the body respond to stress in a more balanced way. And when you think about it, stress affects almost everything: from energy levels, sleep, mood, and even those pesky hormones we carry within our bodies.

Chaga is often linked to antioxidants and immune support. While reishi is sometimes associated with calmness and balance. Cordyceps, on the other end are usually mentioned when it comes to energy and stamina.
Again, I haven’t personally tried these, but reading about how they work together made me see wellness in a different way, and I'm just sharing that.
Stress, Energy, And Hormones Are All Connected
The more I read, the more I realized how connected everything is.
When you’re stressed, your sleep can suffer. When your sleep suffers, your energy drops. And when your energy is low, everything else can feel harder to manage, even the basic day-to-day stuff, trust me.
So instead of focusing on just one area, it started to make sense to support the body as a whole.
That’s what made these supplements interesting to me. They weren’t about fixing one problem overnight. They were about supporting balance over time.
Realistic And Natural
What I like most about all of this is how simple it feels.
There’s no pressure to completely switch up your lifestyle overnight. No complicated routines to follow. Just small things that might support your body in a gentle way.
It also helps that these ingredients have been around for a long time. They’re not new or extreme, but are becoming the new 'norm' in society. They’ve just become easier to include in everyday life.

Start Small Without Overthinking It
I haven’t rushed into trying any of these supplements, and I think that's important to take from this blog post. Everyone’s body is different, and it’s important to take time to understand what might work for you.
If you’re curious, it’s worth doing your own research and, if needed, speaking to a pro before making any changes is a big YES!
For me, this experience has been more about awareness than action. It reminded me that wellness doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Sometimes it starts with something small, like reading a label or learning about an ingredient you’ve never noticed before.
And sometimes, that small moment of curiosity is enough to shift your perspective.
See you in the next one ;)
