With the recent release of Marvel’s Luke Cage on Netflix, and its overwhelming popularity, it’s not hard to see the impact that superheroes have on our culture. Dressing Up, The Geeky Way
From sedate to sexy, these amazing dresses are all you ever dreamed of in your adorable geeky heart. Maybe you’re a serious scientists or programmer; maybe you’re just extremely serious about superheros or video games or Captain Malcolm Reynolds (*dreamy sigh*). Whatever your passion, wear it not just on your sleeve but all over when you’re out to a holiday party, a formal dance, or just out to dinner. These are conversation starters and comfortable evening wear at the same time and most are a good deal more affordable than what some of us probably spent on a lame-o prom dress back in the day (and by lame-o I mean not covered in Batman print). Now go rock it girl - geek style!

Sweet Revenge: Watch Underdog Girls Weaponize Dessert
There’s more than one way to have a food fight. Sure, sometimes flinging your lunch around the room can be a blast, but you don’t have to get covered head to toe in mashed potatoes to have a good time - and get what’s yours. When it comes to taking edible revenge and showing the bad guys who’s boss, geek girls are the best at getting creative. I mean ANYBODY can have a food fight, and a lot of people can have a pie fight, but smashing a chocolate ice cream cone into a cheerleader’s clean white uniform? That’s style. It’s definitely a dirty fight when food’s involved, but an underdog girl has gotta do whatever it takes, no matter how messy the method. Enjoy the following clips from movies where underdog girls (and women) used sugary treats in many forms to stick it to the man and get sweet, sweet revenge.

Most Anticipated Comic Book Movies
Ever since X-Men blew up in the cinema in 1999, many studios have green lit a number of comic book adaptions that have quickly become the most anticipated comic book movies. It is no surprise that DC and Marvel lead the pack and have consistently delivered faithful, and sometimes not so faithful, movie adaptions that bring out the best and worst of the critics and fans. These movies have been the staple for the summer box office, and the offerings don’t seem be stopping any time soon. Thanks to these movies, everyone knows at least a handful of comic book super heroes, and they are clamoring to see them—and Batman—fight the bad guys. From the upcoming Spiderman Homecoming to The Justice League and all the way to Deapool 2, we will take a look at some of the most anticipated comic book movies.

The Funniest Harry Potter T-Shirts
This is a pretty solid list of the funniest Harry Potter t-shirts out there, which makes me ask myself, "WHY is this all there is?" I mean really - the Harry Potter series has HUGE potential for developing funny t-shirts (which I firmly believe are one of the three most important components of anyone's wardrobe, along with "comfortable pants" and "at least one jacket that makes you look like you're ready to fly a B-52"). The business opportunity's out there, people. Somebody get busy. I personally would like to request a shirt depicting the scene where Voldemort hugs Draco. Most. awkward. hug. EVER. (What about the part where Ron forgets that he doesn't actually have a wife? What about the part where Ron dances with Professor McGonagall? What about his entire relationship with Lavender and how she calls him "Won-Won?" What about everything that Ron has ever said or done, on a t-shirt?)

Hollywood and the Red Scare: A Brief History
Films can inform, and they can also entertain. During the 1950s, however, there was a growing fear in many that communist ideals were being worked into films. Through the work of Senator Joseph McCarthy and the House of Un-American Activities Committee, accusations spread throughout the film community. Many films that did not support those ideals were falsely accused of spreading bad vibes and teaching their viewers to embrace communism.

Movie Facts You Didn't Know
Movie buffs pride themselves as virtual encyclopedias of movie facts. There are daily discussions on the Geeks floor, debating who, what, where, and when of movies. Debates can get heated when aficionados begin questioning the validity of IMDB. The film industry is riddled with conspiracy theories that have the most research oriented in the group spending their personal time hunting down the truth behind movie trivia. They dig deep into the history of the particular movies production often reaching out to the directors and producers to determine the movie facts you didn't know.

The Fandom Dictionary
Are you fresh on the fandom scene and a little confused by all the lingo? Well, I don’t blame you, young padawn. Even if you’re overwhelmingly informed about all your favorite fictional worlds—and know how to say “Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist” in Elvish, Entish and High Valyrian—the world of fandoms has a vocabulary all it’s own, one you’ll need to know to navigate the waters safely.

Arthur Miller and Elia Kazan
For a long time, Elia Kazan and Arthur Miller were very good friends. They worked together on plays and films, as the former directed the latter’s play Death of a Salesmanon Broadway, which eventually became one of the best American plays of all time. However, the Red Scare and threat of communism had a bad reputation for destroying relationships, personal and business ones.

OK, so the zombies are rising from the dead and threatening to destroy the world. Is it best to use a chainsaw? Or a baseball bat? Or a cricket bat?
