Kyoto Animation
It is no secret that Kyoto Animation, the producing company to Violet Evergarden, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and A Silent Voice, received an arson attack on July 18, 2019. The attack resulted in the death of 35 people and roughly 33 other persons injured in the fire. It has been roughly one month since the victims, and the victims' families and friends have had to cope with the loss of loved ones. Amidst all the pain and mourning, Kyoto Animation will once again continue to work towards making beautiful animation despite the loss of my dear ones.

What do you get when you put a few enthusiastic fanders from different parts of the world into a Skype session? You get the new podcast Sanders Sidekicks. An idea led by Michelle Brennan on Twitter, "Sanders Sidekicks" is a podcast where fans of Thomas Sanders as well as the series Sanders Sides discuss what comes to mind when it comes to particular characters, head canons, theories, and so much more. Also, some of the things that are included in the podcast are a "Fact of the Day" as a dedication to Logan, the Sanders Side who functions as the personification of Thomas's logical thinking, and a "Joke of the Day" as a dedication to Patton, the Sanders Side who functions as the personification of Thomas's heart, morals, and paternal instincts (complete with dad jokes).

Ross Without a Laugh Track
Friends is one of my favorite shows of all time. I have memorized most of the lines, I know the episodes off by heart, and the jokes make more sense to me now that I am older. My boyfriend recently watched a video on Facebook where the creator took away the laugh track, and added creepy sounding music to certain clips of Ross. I must say, dear Lord, I have never seen anything more mortifying. For example, there was an episode shortly after Ross gets a divorce, and the episode is about Ross's sandwich and how he gets upset about the fact that, I believe, his supervisor or colleague had mistakenly eaten this sandwich. You take away the laugh track, and Ross becomes one of the creepiest guys there is. Especially when he finds out that Donald had eaten his sandwich. His facial expressions and his reactions all scream "serial killer."

No matter how we feel about it, the film industry values franchises above all else now. The summer Box Office has been dominated by returning franchises and rebooted hits, to differing results. It's a strategy however, that is hard to argue with. You know what? I don’t get it. It’s a fucking nightgown. A gown. Like a full on long blue nightgown. I know, I know. She’s not the problem. It’s not her. It’s just that she caters to him and I’m so freaking over it. He’s all excited, because he never wants to grow up, bla, bla, and bla. Still. He’s grown enough and jumping through the window of a girl/woman/whatever in the middle of the night and yammering on about being able to fly or something like that. In most places, in most worlds, that’s just plain creepy and really ill advised and inappropriate in today’s climate.

'9-5' The Musical
At the weekend I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to see 9-5 at the Savoy Theatre with my family. I have always loved Dolly Parton, and I love her personality, and what she has stood for. However, I did not expect such strong messages to be shown through the 9-5 musical. It was incredible—and such valuable messages were portrayed through fabulous acting and clever scenes.
