Rainbow Baby
Let's start this post off from the beginning of my journey into motherhood. December 1, 2017, my cycle had been five days late, I took a test before going to work and got those two beautiful pink lines. It had been eight months of my fiancee and I not preventing pregnancy. Don't Get a C-Section
I am 31 years old and my husband is 36. We are trying to conceive. My cervix is posterior, which means sperm can't reach the opening. I want to have a family, but there is danger in pregnancy and childbirth. I am scared. Would I be a good mother? How long would it take me to heal? I have seen so many women in my life give birth to gorgeous babies and yet I am still worried about the pain and recovery time. The US doesn’t have many companies that have paid maternity leave. My husband and I found a fertility clinic and we are meeting with a physician in the end of January. We are still going to go for it because you are never truly ready for anything.

Touring Labor and Delivery
The labor and delivery ward is an exciting place to be. It brings babies into the world. Hospitals are often associated with death and illness. For any couple expecting, it is important to tour the labor and delivery department of the hospital. I would say you should try to go even if it is not your first in case anything has changed with the hospital. That is an easy phone call. Also, you can easily forget the amenities available to you. This is my experience.

Mom Shaming
As a mother expecting the first baby she is bringing home, there is one thing I have noticed: Mom shaming! There are always people who want to judge you for things, even before you give birth. I'll admit, I even found myself doing it. I watched a YouTube video where a first-time mom talks about her hospital bag. She decided to buy and pack her own hospital gowns because they were cute. In my mind, you're giving birth. It's gross, it's messy, and who cares? Then I got to thinking. I'm mom shaming. Who cares what this mom wants to do! If having her own hospital gown will make her comfortable, good for her. For me, I'll just use the gowns given to me and have a night gown or pajamas for afterwards. Everyone has the right to choose what makes them comfortable and happy during labor. How dare I judge her for her choice of hospital gown.
