The challenges of being dyspraxic
Before embarking on the story, I will give you a definition of dyspraxia. Dyspraxia is a form of disability that can affect activities that require movements and co-ordination. For example, holding a brush, writing, and contact sports. It can have an impact on your immune system, mental health, social skills, perception, organisation and planning skills, processing information, short term memory. and much more. Dyspraxia individuals can do tasks, but need more time and support to do it. The condition is misunderstood. There is lack of awareness and recognition about the condition.

A Letter To The Incoming Class of 2020
As August comes to a close, the directions for this new school year hang in the air. Both parents and teachers alike have their phones going off with the constant updates. One update contradicting another. Families are filling out multiple surveys seeking out answers about in-school instruction. Teachers are confused about the guidelines and parents are frustrated by the everchanging results. Frustration aside, I teach 7th and 8th grade Social Studies and I cannot control my excitement to meet my new students along with seeing the familiar faces from last year. Whether we have a blended learning model or a fully remote school year, it will be a "new normal" for everyone. Students are eager to go back to school. That eagerness is matched with an immense amount of fear. Yes, going back to the building is exciting but, shool will look different. So, to the new students here's a letter to help calm the emotions you may be feeling.

Learning Anatomical Terms in a Fun Way!
It was off time and Jenn, a first-year Medical student, got totally exhausted after attending his college. He took a seat on his College bus and reached home. He found the home empty, took out his lunch from the refrigerator, and ate in a hurry. After getting fresh, he slumped onto his bed and went into a deep sleep. Jenn woke up to the sound of his alarm, which he set for 5:00 PM. After getting fresh, he went downstairs to find his parents having tea.

I Got Sent To America
In the summer of 1998, I went to spend some time with my dad in New York. He and my oldest sister had moved there almost two years prior and I really missed spending time with them. I remember talking to my dad on the phone about coming and how exciting it would be. He spoke to my mom, they sorted some stuff out, and voila! I was New York bound. New York in June 1998 was were it was AT! I had never been exposed to Black American culture as a teenager so this was my first foray into it all. My dad lived in Rosedale, Queens at the time and it was a predominantly black neighbourhood back then. I remember the smells of street meat on Jamaica Ave, the dollar vans that would take us anywhere we wanted to go that operated faster than the buses. I remember the food, especially a New York slice dripping in cheesy (but oily) goodness or the Chinese food that wasn't even close to authentic Chinese food, but tasted oh so good! I remember the music. DMX dropped his iconic first album that summer. Everyone in NY was going nuts because he was the hardest rapper to hit the streets in a minute. Sigh. Amazing memories.

Latimer Heights Experience
In my seven weeks of being in this program, I have learned several new things about coding. Aside from coding, I have bonded with some of my co-workers throughout the program. This internship has been very informative and helpful for me to learn more about the behind the scenes in computers and technology.

Latimer Heights Reflection
Manan Gosalia August 19, 2020 Latimer Heights Reflection Over the summer of 2020, I participated in a summer internship program associated with Latimer Heights, which is a creative code/physical computing organization inspired by Lewis Latimer. During the internship, I learned a lot of new skills, based on programming and STEAM. These include reviewing JavaScript as well as learning how to code in Python. I also learned real-world skills, such as time management, communication, and problem-solving. From participating in this internship, I enjoyed the experience, as it helped me enhance and review my abilities for the tech and real world.

A Gift For Your Child: The Benefits of Online Reading Tutor
Online reading tutors are in demand today as schools are closed because of the pandemic. Many parents are worried about their child's reading skills because kids cannot go outside and cannot meet other people. They cannot go to their summer class center or meet a face-to-face tutor.
