Murders That Inspired Ghost Stories
Ghost stories are as old as time itself, and for as long as humanity can remember, they often started the same way. For one reason or another, a person dies a tragic death, and they have to come back to the world of the living to let everyone know of the tragedy that occurred.

Freedom on Alcatraz Island. Top Story - July 2018.
The once-familiar sounds of doors clanging shut did not make me cringe or dredge up suppressed memories. Instead, they had the curious effect of bringing me a sense of peace. Integrating a difficult past into a present inextricably intertwined with a single impulsive action committed long ago can be hard. Many people that have been to prison allow their imprisonment to become their identity; you become known as a felon when convicted. Yet the process of reintegration after a long stretch of incarceration often means reconciling the two. And it was this reconciliation that took place during my recent trip to Alcatraz.

10 Crime-Related Industries You Didn't Know Existed
The idea that crime doesn't pay is pretty laughable. In America, we have a very lucrative criminal system that tends to give birth to a number of different industries relating to crime in one way or another. Between our billion-dollar private prison systems and the sheer amount of money that heroin dealers can make, it's easy to see where there's profit to be found.

10 Hilarious Ways Criminals Were Caught
Once in a blue moon, you will hear of a person (or a group of people) who committed the perfect crime. They pulled a perfect heist or committed a perfect murder, and then were never caught by police. Perfect crimes are rare; even Ted Bundy couldn't escape investigation.

Police Fail to Respond to Brutal Murder of Black Teenager
Reports are flying in about the attack of two young black women last night (22nd July) at MacArthur BART in Oakland, CA. The brutal attack was carried out by a white man aged 25-30, heavy set and thought to be a white supremacist. The suspect approached Nia Wilson, 18, and older sister Tashiya, 20, entirely unprovoked, and proceeded to slit their throats with a knife. Tragically, Nia did not survive the attack, however her sister is still in hospital fighting for her life.

Unbreakable Bond
Delilah knelt on the saturated ground in front of the weathering stone. She wanted to trace the engraved name with her fingertips, but each letter would only be a reminder of our disintegrating memories. Us walking along the darkened road, careless about how far we were going. The headlights flashing in front of our eyes as a white Bentley drew to a slow crawl beside our barely visible frames. Stopping, window rolling down, a face in shadow. He must have known that the car would catch our attention. It put us at ease; not like the dodgy, rundown cars that you see in films. We were caught up in a moment of rebellion and we felt invincible.

Loving the Loveless Pt. 2
July 16, 2018 at 7:10am The North Bureau, North Charleston, SC Detective Derek Kyle "Yo, DK!" Derek sighed heavily, thankful that the bullpen was louder than usual following the morning shift change so that his sergeant wouldn't be able to hear the sound. The Cajun male wasn't known for taking sass before noon. At least not without an unhealthy amount of coffee.

Mr. Pilgrim
It was December 16, 2011. The snow plummeted down from the skies above. The roads of London were empty; wait that isn’t how I’m doing this. That just isn’t my type of story—who wants to listen to me blabber on with as many literary iterations as I possibly can? Nope, I’ve finally earned myself several pages inside a book, soppy sucker doesn’t know what he is letting himself in for. This… this is how my story will start.

Richard Kuklinski: The Worst Serial Killer You've Never Heard Of
One of the most prolific serial killers you have probably never heard of went by at least three nicknames: “the Polack”, “Big Rich” and “The Iceman” for his disturbing practice of freezing some of his victims in order to confuse the investigation into the time of death. This man's name was Richard Kuklinski, and by all exterior accounts he lived a fairly normal, upper-middle-class lifestyle with a wife and a couple of kids in New Jersey. Kuklinski claims to have had as many as 200 victims, and even claims to have murdered Teamsters Union boss Jimmy Hoffa. You see, Richard Kuklinski lived a double life. Family man by day, and Mafia hitman the rest of the time.
