Keep On Rocking
The Music of Alvin Stardust Don’t you just love that name? Before this English rock singer and stage actor took the name Alvin Stardust in 1961. Before that, he was going by the name of Shane Fenton and cranking out hits such as “I’m a Moody Guy” and “Cindy’s Birthday”. Soon he discovered the nightclub circuit which brought him to a meeting with songwriter/producer Pete Shelley.

Memorable Songs
Gary Puckett & the Union Gap Gary Puckett & The Union Gap came together as an American pop-rock group in the late 1960s. What set them apart from other groups was that they performed wearing Union Army uniforms from the American Civil War. The boys in the band were Gary Puckett, Gary “Mutha” Withem, Dwight Bement, Kerry Chater, and Paul Wheatbread. Later, once they started recording Gary Puckett became the lead singer and the other members became The Union Gap.

Always Somebody’s Baby
Baby is a simple term referring to very small children or infants. Baby is also a loving and endearing term people call their partners, lovers, and even friends. The term can also be used as a slang term to refer to a woman. Many songs have been written with baby in the title. Among these, my favorite is “Baby Blue”. Which is yours?

Jump in the Line with Harry
I can picture American singer, actor, and activist Harry Belafonte, who made Calypso music popular, dancing down the Milky Way in Calypso style. He died on April 25, 2023, at the age of 96 in NYC, but he leaves us with his fantastic music to be enjoyed by future generations. He is one of the few performers to have received Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards. In 2022 Belafonte was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the Early Influence category.

The Phenomenal Fab Four
The Beatles came on the scene when they were most needed by the world of rock and roll. With their unusual hairstyles, awesome music, and popularity they quickly became known as The Fab Four. However, it seemed that as quickly as they skyrocketed to fame they were also changing in many different ways and even though you would expect that a band like this would have kept on rockin' they disbanded after releasing 12 albums. But with all the compilations and other special releases, it was enough to make them legends and very successful on their solo musical journeys.

Sugar and Honey Sweet Love
Sugar and honey are two terms used as endearment between partners. They are interchangeable and can be used when referring to either females or males. When in love usually it gives the person being addressed a warm all-over feeling that their partner loves them so very much. I remember back in high school a very silly saying that had me and my girlfriends laughing until tears came to our eyes – “sure as the grass grows round the stump, you are my darling sugar lump”. These terms have inspired many songs. Among these one of my favorites is “Sugar Baby Love”. Which is yours?
