Will This Be The Summer Of Blood Version 2021?
It's Saturday morning, June the 5th, 2021 and it feels like it's still 2020, or rather I'm realizing that there's no sign of an end to the horror show that could be aptly titled America. Over the past years, we have all had to bear witness to the horrors of life in America. Police have been at the center of these controversial times in America as the public outcry for justice reform carries on. I honestly feel for the men and women who put on the badge and try to do the job every day. As a former Law Enforcement officer, I have fears for the future of policing and for those that might want to be in the profession. There just simply doesn't appear to be an end to the horror show that is life in America.

From Idea To Beginning And The Work In Between, The Makings Of A Masterpiece.
I sit down, remembering the ideas I had flow through my mind today. My imagination was in high gear. Turning on my computer with one hand and opening my notepad with another, I look around my desk for one of those things I lose plenty of, a pen. Ideas that flooded my mind while I was working at my 9 to 5 job now start to flow out onto the paper in the form of gel-ink. There were so many ideas that I had no idea where to start, exactly that is. However, as they start to take shape on paper, I realize that I've got several bits of information to look up to support my idea. So I start doing research.

Memorial Day, Honoring The Heroes That Didn't Make It Home And Remembering Those That Are The Best Of America.
People come and go in life. It's not without suffering and pain but rather just a part of human existence. As summer months slowly roll in and warmer weather is upon us, my thoughts turn to yet another season of barbeques, time with family, hanging out in the pool, fireworks, and remembering all of those that made it possible for us to enjoy these treasured events. While I was never one of those that I speak of, I learned to hold them in the highest of regards as they were all heroes. Each and every one of them that ever signed on the dotted line. Each and every one of the men and women that defend our country, sacrificing that time with their loved ones, so that we can enjoy ours. They are an impressive bunch.

Why Our Interest In The Supernatural Prevails In The Face Of Its' Darkness?
Believe, or don't believe, that is usually the question around water coolers, between late-night colleagues, during pillow talk, or simply when our mind wanders. As small children, our parents and loved ones teach us not to believe in monsters or the "boogieman" and yet we find our paths drawn back to those horror stories. Once we are opened up to the realm of possibilities, then we will pretty much believe in anything. So, whether you may believe in the monsters and ghosts that others believe in, or you hide your head in doubt, there's a world of infinite possibilities out there. Some of those possibilities should, however, be left alone.

Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Disney, HBO Max, Peacock. What's Your Bingewatching Pleasure?
In Midwestern Illinois today the temperature reached a balmy 48 degrees with windchills causing it to feel more like a 31-degree morning in December. Drafts from recently opened windows prevailed, the force of mother nature winning the day. Like the beginning of a lockdown half of the people went back inside to hide out, not from fear of germs but to avoid cold and chilling temperatures. So, what was our binge-watching guilty pleasure? What did you watch today.

Oh, You Didn't Know
We've all been treated to some of the biggest names in entertainment history in the form of television series we fell absolutely in love with. One of those series, for myself at least, was The Big Bang Theory. My second biggest television addiction, until it ended after its tenth season, was, of course, Friends. Let's face the facts, the networks found a formula that works. There's no denying that the twenties to mid-thirties formula of five to six young and attractive people who are tight and have chemistry with one another works. It's been working now since the middle of the 1990s.

Momma Bears' Teachings
To start with, the strongest people in the world sometimes struggle with mental illnesses. Depression, bipolar disorder, and worse can change a persons' circumstances dramatically. But, somehow my momma bear never let that stop her. While not always perfect, and sometimes a horror show, she imparted things onto me that make me who I am.
