During Women’s History Month it’s important to make note of all the women who inspire us. These women are our mothers, sisters, grandmothers, wives or girlfriends. People Who Inspired Me To Be A Writer: JK Rowling
Around late 1999 my big sister Rudy came home from school one day with a book in her hand. I noticed that there was a boy with glasses who riding what looked like a broomstick on the cover of the book. When I asked her what was the name of the book she was carrying she told me it was called Harry Potter and it’s about a boy who goes to school where he does magic. My first impression of the book was well it sounds like typical kids stuff but I’m not really interested in it. What I didn’t realize was that this book would become one of my favorite stories ever and the woman who wrote it would later become one of my heroes of writing. Her name is JK Rowling and she is an incredible woman who has inspired me as a writer.

People Who Inspired Me To Be A Writer: Sharon M. Draper
When I was 11 years old I was given an assignment at school to read a book called Forged By Fire. I had no idea at the time that this book would have a major impact on my life and that it’s creator would become one of my biggest heroes of literature who inspired me to be a writer. Her name is Sharon M. Draper.

Women Who Inspire Me: Tara Pidgeon
How many people can say they have a teacher who not only taught them a great deal, but also inspired them, cared for them and became one of their loved ones? Actually, many people can say that and I’m thankful to say I’m one of them, the teacher in question for me is Tara Pidgeon. Today is her birthday and during this Women’s History Month I want to tell the story of how this amazing woman inspired me.

Rudy Lee & Me
Pretty much everyone who knows me would tell you in a heartbeat that I’m a little crazy and maybe even a tad bit unique, but what only a finger full of anyone of em could tell you is that I get a lot of my personality from my older sister Rudy Lee. Of course our parents and even our friends play a big role in our personal development, but believe it or not, our siblings do as well. So during this second day of Women’s History Month, which is also my big sister Rudy’s birthday, I wanna tell you about all the ways Rudy has inspired my life and all my ways.

My Biggest Hero: My Mother
If someone were to ask me who has been the biggest inspiration in my life since the day I was born they would without hesitation get the name Ruby Lee Spencer as the response. Ruby is my mother and for Women’s History Month I wanted to write a tribute to her for how she inspired my entire life.
