The Louvre, December 2022: I'm standing in front of the painting I wanted to see in person ever since I read about it for the first time nearly 25 years ago. "La Grande Odalisque" fascinates me endlessly and I can spend hours studying its details.

Life is a Test: Living is an ART
Have you ever questioned your life's significance? Frequently given responses include "success," "happiness," or "satisfaction." All of these objectives are admirable, but in my opinion, the point of living is to take every obstacle and test as an opportunity to grow into the person you were destined to be. You are put to the test in life to be and grow into your highest self.

Bastille, the story of a revolution
The Storming of the Bastille occurred in Paris, France, on 14 July 1789, when revolutionary insurgents stormed and seized control of the medieval armory, fortress, and political prison known as the Bastille. The farm house and the 40 acres it sits on has been in her best friends family for generations. She is sure they have done no modernizations since the day it was built. It's a solid old home filled with many memories. She and her small circle of friends have spent most every summer here and she loves it.

Late night reflections
One painting that has always captivated me is Edward Hopper's "Nighthawks," which depicts a late-night scene at a diner in an urban area. The painting is known for its use of light and shadow to convey a sense of loneliness and isolation among the people in the diner, who are all lost in their own thoughts and seemingly disconnected from one another.
