Artwork by author’s daughter at age 11
Voice of the sea, song of the brave,
Cry of the deep, music of the wave.
*
Shimmering, bubbling ocean sounds,
Swelling flowing all around.
Rhythm coursing, rising, reeling
Growing, ebbing, soothing, healing.
*
Voice of the sea, song of the brave,
Cry of the deep, music of the wave.
*
Hear her calling, hear her cry.
Hear her pleading, “Why, oh why
Must you treat me viciously?
Change your habits, leave me be.”
*
Every creature gather near.
Circle closely, lend an ear.
Move your body to the beat.
Share your dance while I repeat:
*
Voice of the sea, song of the brave,
Cry of the deep, music of the wave.

I love the ocean and your poem is a powerful voice for her: "Change your habits, leave me be." Well done! And wonderful artwork by your daughter.
I love this! And your daughter's artwork is so incredible!
Love the artwork! And the pulsing rythm of the verse.
I hear that voice a lot lately, in our new home by the sea. Lovely verse, beautifully illustrated
