The Sun On My Face

The Clouds in My Mind

In dimness I sit and wait

Perhaps for the promise of inevitable fate

Longing for days of sun to return

Yet all I feel is the emptiness of the yearn

Clouds comfort me, perfecting my mood

As flowers slowly bloom, surely to delude

I look at the sky hoping for a message divine

Questions, answers, so murky and entwined

Who do I expect to rescue me this time?

An angel, a prophet, a puppy, a sign?

Where are you hope, where have you gone?

Your absence has chilled me, look what you've done

You made so many promises that you didn't keep

Yet I feel you again as I stare at the sun and weep

sad poetry
