The Good, the Bad and the Strange – Reprise
George's Girl and Calvin Challenge - March 2026

Well now, Miss Marie,
I see you sent a note to me,
“The Good, the Bad and the Strange.”
I’ve read it several times,
And digested all the lines,
But I have to say it does not sit well with me.
The rhyme is very good,
Your message was clearly understood,
And yes, you make some valid points.
While your message might be clear,
I have to disagree, my dear.
You talk about good rising from the dead,
A concept I can’t get inside my head.
The bad moves in mysterious ways,
A concept you explain,
And yes, bad things happen time and time again.
I have addressed your good and bad,
And how the two can add,
To leave us with only one,
Life is strange in every intent,
Is that what you meant?
To me, there is not enough good,
All the bad I would change if I could,
Maybe that is just the life I’ve had.
Strange is the one that bugs me,
Should it not be the good, the bad, and the ugly?
[A/n: George's Girl wrote a poem last month, which sparked a dare to reply. It was fun, so we decided to do it again this month. Here is her poem (below), and this is my reply.]
Till next time,
