written 1/26/2026 Marinated a couple of months and retitled to TESTIFY with a couple of edits on 3/25/2026. I hope you like:
In a place long forgotten
a spot so forbidden
went a soul to be hidden..
in rack and ruin,
flayed and splayed and unforgiven..
for the sins...
The stains of time sit upon you
Relics of reknown
Sit upon your shelves
Holding memories not of joy
But burdens left
By one way stronger than you
Stronger than you can ever be
The lofty expectations placed upon your shoulders weaken,
Become too much to bear
So now you interpret them as you seek
any truth you care to speak.
Ironic, isn't it?
The more your preach about the haunted
the richer you get..
Find the right words..
power words!
to Rage atop the pulpit
Scold the sinner
Scream at culprits!
..and the poor for not giving more
Blame the lesser!
Close the door..
I must confess
you weary me..
With your sad tales of need
while I have more
and bigger things to heed.
The world you build
is of wealth aplenty
where even God is like a penny..you say TESTIFY!
Feed me,
Give me..
Out of your need..
I will plant a seed.....for me.
Perhaps then,
maybe..
your prayer will reach the hallowed halls of my vanity!
Til then
let us pray for sanity.
Peace
