Tears of Woe

What happened to all the world's possibilities, we did not see

It was a world of infinite opportunities for the taking

To look now, and remember how it all used to be

I think that I should cry for those many chances forsaken

--

To live among such beauty and never see it with your eyes

The world was not meant to be only for the few

Many a man's dreams went unfinished before their demise

Sadly, there's only one chance to get it right, and few ever do

--

To come together and think not of the moment in time

Remembering the world is shared

Tis not yours, nor was it ever mine

If only the masses ever really cared

--

Few are spared the indignity of what's really happening to it all

The evils of man, they do forever abound

And still wishing to see it's wonders you are, when you fall

But what did you expect, shedding those tears, as our father's not around

--

I think that I should cry

For nothing will ever change on this plane

None will head the warning and try

So I cry, for it all remains insane

I could really feel the pain of hopelessness in this poem. I think many of us have been feeling this way while watching the news.
