[The Witches' Curse - Spoken Word]
I’ve been out killing swine in the muddy clay,
While a sailor’s wife munched her chestnuts away.
“Give me one,” I said, but she cried, “Witch, depart!”
Now I’ll tear the Tiger and her husband apart.
I’ll drain him as dry as a bundle of hay,
He’ll be cursed and awake through the night and the day!
I’ll batter his ship with a powerful gale
And pin his thumb to the pilot’s wheel
But wait — the air has changed, something moves through the ground,
A greater soul approaches to the drum's sound-
[Macbeth Approaches – Haunting Song]
A drum, a drum! Macbeth doth come!
Hand in Hand we dance around
Through the sea and across the ground
A drum, a drum! Macbeth doth come!
Thrice to thine and thrice to mine
And thrice again, to make up nine.
A drum, a drum! Macbeth doth come!
A spell has been cast, the deed is done
A drum, a drum! Macbeth doth come!
[The Prophecy]
[Verse 1]
So foul and fair a day I’ve never seen,
What are these creatures, between worlds unseen?
With skinny lips and beards on their face,
They surely come from a hellish place.
They block our path on the desolate moor
Three twisted sisters from some ancient lore
[Chorus]
Hail, Thane of Glamis! the first of them cries,
Hail, Thane of Cawdor! the second replies,
Hail, King hereafter! the third one sings,
While Banquo shall be the father of kings!
[Verse 2]
If real, how did they vanish into thin air
And why does their prophecy fill me with fear
A rider with news that cuts like a blade
The first of the prophecy has been made
The traitor of Cawdor is sentenced to die
And with that the banner is Macbeth’s to fly
[Chorus]
Hail, Thane of Glamis! the first of them cries,
Hail, Thane of Cawdor! the second replies,
Hail, King hereafter! the third one sings,
While Banquo, the lesser, is the father of kings!
[Verse 3]
Two Truths have been told or so it does seem
The third, nothing but a sinister dream
They fill my mind with a horrible thought
A deed so dark it cannot be for naught
A crown and a throne, a desire I dare not confess
For the king would have to die — nothing more, nothing less
[Chorus]
Hail, Thane of Glamis! the first of them cries,
Hail, Thane of Cawdor! the second replies,
Hail, King hereafter! the third one sings,
While Banquo, the lesser, is the father of kings!
[Bridge]
If chance will have me king, then let chance take the crown
Without my hand being raised, for I will not strike down.
No witch’s spell can corrupt my inner thoughts
Nor make me betray the battles I have fought
[Chorus]
Hail, Thane of Glamis! the first of them cries,
Hail, Thane of Cawdor! the second replies,
Hail, King hereafter! the third one sings,
While Banquo, the lesser, is the father of kings!
