Snowy Trials

when lying is okay

By AmashiraPublished about 17 hours ago Updated about 17 hours ago 1 min read

The night train arrives at the station

12:47AM, missing the last bus towards her destination

a taxi awaits, so she enters saying,

"Can you charge me for something, so I know I have money?"

a foolish, but honest transaction

like she thought, her card rejected

biting her tongue to beg for a ride

winter stinging her cheeks, penetrating her clothes

she embarks on a one hour trek through knee high snow

after an 18 hour shift and no strength in her bones

she arrives an hour later, 1:50AM and sore

unaware of the torture she endures

to have no money to get home warm
