One Bottle Of Beer Ruined My Life

Why? How? Because it’s the devils brew on glass ruins

One Bottle Of Beer Ruined My Life

It started small, a harmless sip,

A laugh, a night, a careless dare,

The world was light, the air was thin,

No warning whispered in the air.

That bottle held a quiet lie,

It promised ease, it numbed the pain,

But every drop it poured in me,

Was feeding something dark and vain.

I chased that warmth it gave my bones,

That fleeting peace I could not keep,

Until the nights grew longer still,

And guilt began to poison sleep.

One bottle turned to countless more,

Each one a step I could not trace,

I watched my life collapse in slow,

A stranger wearing now my face.

The hands I loved began to slip,

The voices softened, then were gone,

And all I had was empty glass,

And shame that dragged me further on.

I swore I’d stop, I swore I’d change,

But vows dissolved like bitter foam,

For every road I tried to walk,

Just circled back to that dark home.

Inside that bottle lived my cage,

No bars to see, no lock to break,

Just endless thirst that owned my will,

And every breath I had to take.

I lost my name, I lost my worth,

I lost the man I used to be,

All for a taste that burned my soul,

And left no part of me still free.

Now I sit with shattered truth,

A hollow shell, a wasted year,

And all I know, with brutal clarity,

My life was sold for one damn beer.
