Sitting here alone
on the bench
of life
like a seasoned pro
watching love
skip to and fro
from the sidelines
sometimes I look back
through tear-blurred eyes
retracing
rethinking
reliving
refeeling
what if I knew then
what I know now?
my regrets festering
pummeling me
in an endless loop
would I have
pushed away
pushed back
pushed in harder
deeper
hotter
farther
if I knew then
what I know now?
Not a chance.
He had already
written my steps
for yesterday
today
and tomorrow
so I'm still
winning
even though I'm
B̳E̳N̳C̳H̳E̳D̳.
