Distant From The Crowds

Say It Plainly

In distant lands,

Where contrasting flavours meet on a dusty path,

Innocence and boldness intertwine,

Forging new values from timeless styles.

The blue shirt mirroring the blue sky

Carries significant implications.

This holds true if we're determined

To dismantle our current perceptions.

But what, exactly, defines “popular”?

Seen by thousands, understood by few.

Does this mean everyone who witnesses it

Connects with it?

Universal values align seamlessly

With individual desires.

Anyone seeking catharsis in the modern era

Will undoubtedly receive it.

Revenge served cold, yet they remain unaware .

Silenced on paper alone, who is concerned?

Identities blurred, mistaken, and lost ,

A fusion of disparate bodies and spirits .

Out there, their perception will shift.

They'll run it through their personal filters

To confirm what they already believe,

Just framed differently, under a new guise.

This will subtly alter their reality,

Or perhaps transform it completely,

Based on their knowledge and experience.

Everything we can understand comes from within us,

Regardless of the paths we've taken over the years,

Guiding us on what's right and wrong.

But that's not really the case.

The one in power holds the purse strings,

Whether they're defining us by our abundant diversity,

Pigeonholing us, venerating us,

Or completely ignoring us.

The one who holds the pen should have the power.

The power of words, not the power of decisions.

We all make choices; it's just that sometimes

Unskilled others choose for us,

And we all have to live with it.
