Master the Major Moments Programs

MLB The Show 26's "Moments" mode offers players a way to experience key moments from the game, but to truly excel, you’ll need to optimize your strategy. Whether you’re trying to complete challenges faster or improve your gameplay, these tips will help you get ahead.
Major Moments Programs
- World Baseball Classic (WBC) Recap Program: Relive the 2026 international tournament with 26 specific Moments. Completing all of them awards 52 Program Stars, which is half of the requirement for the main program rewards.
- Launch Day Legends: These Moments spotlight new historical additions to the game. You can play through challenges featuring players like Troy Tulowitzki, Albert Pujols, Félix Hernández, Dustin Pedroia, and Roy Campanella.
- Team Affinity Moments: Each division typically features a series of Moments that allow you to earn progress toward specialized Team Affinity rewards for all 30 MLB teams.
- WBC Pool Programs: Specific Moments are dedicated to Pools A, B, C, and D of the World Baseball Classic to relive excitement from those specific brackets.
Modes Featuring Moments
- Diamond Dynasty: Most Moments are found here, serving as the primary way to "grind" for early-game cards, such as those found in the WBC program.
- Franchise Mode: A new "custom game entry" feature allows GMs to play only the most pivotal moments throughout a season rather than playing every full game.
- Road to the Show: Career-specific Moments occur during your player's journey, such as your MLB Debut or high-pressure situations in the minors.
Speed Up the Grind
1. Use the "Moments" Menu
Rather than navigating through Diamond Dynasty, use the "Moments" tab from the main menu. This allows you to jump directly to the next challenge without the need to return to the Diamond Dynasty hub after completing each moment, saving you valuable time.
2. Activate Fast Play & Stretch Only
Head to your settings and adjust Presentation Mode to "Fast Play" and Pitcher Delivery to "Stretch Only." These options eliminate the cinematic breaks and speed up the time between pitches, helping you complete moments quicker.
3. Prioritize Theme Programs
Starting with World Baseball Classic (WBC) pools and Team Affinity moments gives you a fast track to high-attribute cards, such as the 94 OVR Mike Garcia or early Diamond players. These moments often offer the best rewards for your time investment.
Hitting Strategy
1. Master Fixed Zone Hitting
A new feature in MLB The Show 26, Fixed Zone Hitting ensures that your PCI (Plate Coverage Indicator) does not drift back to the center of the screen. This makes it easier to focus on a specific pitch location, such as up-and-in, for home run moments or more accurate hitting.
2. Adjust PCI Sensitivity
If you find yourself struggling with accuracy and missing pitches, try lowering your PCI Sensitivity to about 70%. This will give you more control over your swings and help you line up your hits more consistently.
3. Be Patient
For moments that require you to "get on base" or "tally hits," don’t rush. Wait for a pitch in your sweet spot. Try positioning your PCI toward the pitcher's release side (inside for righties, outside for lefties), which can help you react faster to fastballs and make more contact.
Pitching & Base Running
1. Use the Bear Down Mechanic
The new Bear Down feature (activated with LT/L2) is especially useful during high-pressure situations like a full count with the bases loaded. This mechanic significantly increases your pitch accuracy, giving you an edge in tough moments.
2. Master Base Running Perspectives
When a moment calls for multiple total bases, remember to adjust your analog stick not just for generic directions but based on the perspective of the player on the field. Point the stick towards the next base (e.g., towards second when you're on first) to ensure smoother and faster base running.
