The King Who Was Healed… Then Betrayed
A chilling tale of envy, power, and a deadly mistake

By(Haris Barki)
In the ancient land of Persia, in a kingdom called Zouman, there ruled a king whose suffering had no cure.
He was powerful.
He was wealthy.
He commanded armies.
And yet… he was helpless.
Because the king was a victim of a terrible disease—leprosy.
Every physician in the land had tried to cure him.
The most skilled healers, the wisest scholars… all had failed.
Hope was fading.
Until one day, a stranger arrived.
⸻
A Mysterious Physician Appears
He was called Douban—a man unlike any other.
A Greek physician.
A master of languages.
A genius of herbs, remedies, and ancient knowledge.
When he heard of the king’s condition, he didn’t hesitate.
He dressed in his finest robes and walked straight into the royal court.
The room fell silent.
All eyes turned toward him.
And then he said something no one expected:
“Your Majesty… I can cure you.
Without medicine. Without potions. Without even touching your skin.”
The court gasped.
The king leaned forward.
“If you truly cure me,” he declared, “I will reward you beyond imagination—wealth for you and your descendants forever.”
Douban bowed calmly.
“The cure begins tomorrow.”
⸻
The Strangest Cure Ever Given
The next day, Douban returned… not with herbs or ointments—
—but with a polo stick.
Yes… a simple wooden club.
Or so it seemed.
Hidden inside its hollow handle was a powerful medicinal compound.
He also brought a ball.
Then he turned to the king and said:
“Ride. Play. Strike the ball until your body burns with heat.
The remedy will enter through your hands… and heal you from within.”
It sounded absurd.
But the king had nothing left to lose.
⸻
A Game That Changed Everything
The king mounted his horse.
The game began.
He struck the ball once.
Twice.
Again and again.
His courtiers joined in, passing the ball back and forth.
Minutes turned into hours.
Sweat poured from his body.
Heat surged through his veins.
And finally…
He stopped.
Exhausted.
Burning.
Alive.
He returned to the palace, bathed as instructed… and fell into a deep sleep.
⸻
A Miracle at Dawn
The next morning…
Everything had changed.
The disease… was gone.
Completely gone.
His skin was clear.
His strength restored.
The impossible had happened.
⸻
A King’s Gratitude
The court erupted in joy.
Celebrations filled the palace.
The king summoned Douban, embraced him like a brother, and honored him beyond measure:
• Rich robes of state
• Gold—thousands of sequins
• Endless royal favor
Douban had become the most trusted man in the kingdom.
But not everyone was celebrating…
⸻
The Seed of Jealousy
In the shadows stood the king’s grand vizier.
A man of greed.
A man of envy.
A man who could not bear another’s success.
Every reward Douban received… burned him inside.
And so, he began to plot.
⸻
The Poison of Words
One day, the vizier approached the king in private.
His voice was low. Careful. Dangerous.
“Your Majesty… it is not wise to trust a man whose loyalty is unproven.”
The king frowned.
“What are you implying?”
The vizier leaned closer.
“This physician… may not be what he seems.
What if he came not to heal you… but to kill you?”
Silence filled the room.
⸻
Doubt vs Loyalty
The king’s face hardened.
“You are wrong,” he said firmly.
“This man saved my life.
If he wished me dead… he could have let me die.”
Then he added, almost coldly:
“I see the truth—you are jealous.”
The vizier’s eyes flickered—but he did not give up.
Instead, he pressed further…
And that is where the real danger begins.
Because sometimes…
A lie repeated often enough…
Can sound like truth.
⸻
What Happens Next?
Will the king continue to trust Douban?
Or will the poison of jealousy destroy the very man who saved him?
And what terrible lesson lies ahead?
